Effects on Marine Life A large number of marine species are known to be harmed and/or killed by plastic debris, which could harm their survival, especially since many are already endangered by other forms of human activities like; oil spills, fishing and drainage water spilling. Not only that but many animals think that its their prey and chew them, then they choke and die. For example Leather back turtles eat jellyfish so when they see a plastic bag it looks like a jellyfish and they eat it (Choke and die).
